Continuous Learning
Hello everyone!
This is me Scribbler [penname] welcome to my blog.
After my first post of self-introduction, I was excited and waiting for
some good topics to write on. A random thought while was riding a bike, while
having my breakfast, while having an office meeting with my colleagues and not
but the least while I’m in loo, of course you all agree with me in this [that’s
the best place ever to have all randomness and new ideas].
Unfortunately, all the circumstances were like before, college days, not
those thoughts came up to writing a blog post. And one fine day I sat on stairs
opened my windows word document to write and staring at the sky thinking what
to write. My habitual, started to scribble. Sometimes later I read those lines
and sparked me why I don’t make this a full write up. So started another blog
post and here it is for you, folks.
I have brought a topic “Continuous Learning @Work 😊” here for our thought
process. I assure you that you will have some ideology after reading this post
or you will definitely gain something out of it for your life.
A lot of recent events have brought me to think about this and write
down my thoughts.
Many working people feel tired about the work they do. They feel bored, tired, stressed or stagnant in their career journey. It's not about random people and random thoughts, I've heard from my former colleagues, current colleagues and my friends. They say the same about their profession. My take and give here are that people start their journey with enthusiasm and as years go by, they don't feel the same enthusiasm as they did in the early stages. This is because they stop studying. They stop to be explorers. They stop being broad minded. They stop to be students. Rather, they all feel mastery in their area. They feel they know everything. They become narrow minded. They think they are the leader (not really).
Yes, I explain not to boil after reading above. Working is another phase of your learning platform when you graduate from school. It's like school days. Let me be clearer. In school you learn from your teacher, your peers, your parents. Similarly, you learn from your mentor, your colleagues and your community (work-related – conferences, seminars, etc.) during your work. Every year in school, you take an exam to know your future potential (grade/rank/classes), similarly at your work, every year you have evaluations (some companies review your performance at different frequencies in the same year as quarterly, half-yearly etc. mid-term exams) to know your ability towards growth. In this process, some remain on the same level, and some are promoted. Depends on your performance in both scenarios.
So now tell me guys, how school and career are different?
If you agree with me, think about why you feel bored, tired, stressed or
stagnant? One of your answers will fall into: stop learning, be an explorer, be
broad-minded, be a student.
What I recommend to those people is to be students. Open to learning.
Don't ignore the work assigned to you, even if it isn't written in your signed
job description or doesn't pay enough for additional responsibilities. Focus on
the assigned work and take it as your self-examination. Learn to do it. It
helps you no end. Yes, guys, please hold on, I hear you yelling. wait I will
get to the point of how it will help you.
Learning something new will surely help you in your worst situation. For
example, when your company closes down or you want to leave your routine, the
newly learned skill or developed skill (Example: Master in Excel - creating a tutorial
for beginners) is your asset to restart your career on a different path
(eventually yes, it is a fresh start and depending on your skill level you will
be placed in position).
Conclusion: Learning throughout your life is what you do continuously,
knowingly or unknowingly, without effort or effort. So “don't stop learning,
stop blaming”.
Stay tuned for my next scribbling!!
Humble thanks to you all from a scribbler 😊
